Teddy Bear Parade/Halloween

The kindergarten here has a teddy bear week every year and last week was teddy bear week. The kids got to take there favorite bears to school, and at the end of the week the whole school puts on a parade. The teachers put together a skit of Goldie Locks and the Three Bears. Friday was the Parade and pajama day.

After the performace we went back to the class room and the kids have been learning to read a book about bears.


The three bears went to the class room to visit all the kids. The kids had a great time, they exercised with there bears and read to the bears and had snacks.


Saturday was of course Halloween and the kids were very excited of course. Zeona was a princess on a unicorn, William was an evil warlock, Syndl was a cowgirl on a horse. and I dressed in camo.

Week of fun!

Syndl's school has been doing a week of fun. I got a few pics of a couple of days. There was something different everyday, wacky sock day, pajama day, wacky glasses and hat day and wild hair day. She gets to wear he costume friday (tomarrow) which she is excited about. Syndl is going as a shark and hopefully doesn't eat her classmates.

We had to make a trip to clovis and found these glasses at Dollar Tree for wacky glasses and hat day.


For wild hair day I wasn't sure what to do and since I didn't have color spray for hair I used marker to color her hair. The are the good smelling markers so her hair also smelled like fruit. I will get pics posted of Halloween. Stay safe.

Homecoming

Eastern New Mexico celebrated thier 75th anniversary this year so homecoming was longer then usual. The kids all enjoyed it of course as always. The gathered lots of candy and junk. Here are some picutres of the kids and what we saw.

Grey hound out of paper.

An acutal Grey hound. Eastern is expected to get two grey hounds as mascots by the end of the year. They will be retired racing dogs, students will have training that are going to be around the dogs, and the dogs will appear at Eastern events. They are not the prettiest of dogs but I think it is good they are giving homes to the retired dogs.

William's 1st Football game

William had his first game on Saturday and as much as I thought I was going to hate it I acctually enjoyed myself. I took a picture of William before we left for the game. We played the Stealers our first game and we lost but not without a fight. We played a pretty good game. the score I think was 20-16 but I can't be for sure. All that matters is William having fun all the kids are winners for even trying football in my opinion. William is on the Chiefs not a bad team better then the Cowboys lol!

This picture is towards the end of the game last few minutes to be exact and William looked so cute just standing there. Once again he is the small one. There is a theme here he and a few other kids are really tiny but it is always the tiny ones that you have to fear.

Cat and Washer

I have a friend that likes my washer and dryer just as much as I do. When she sees me in the laundry room he comes running in there with me. The first picture I took a couple of days ago and then he just liked to sit and watch the washer go round and round. Now it seems he wants to get in.

Our last washer was a top loading washer and we had to be very careful about doing laundry because he would get up there and sleep in the washer. I think it is just an addiction. Who know cats could have an addiction to appliances, oh well cat after my own heart.

Fair Winnings

My gosh I am slacking I am so behind on my posts. I guess just trying to get things ready for the fair took to much time, but it all paid off. I got some ribbons and the kids got some ribbons to (even a little money with them). Each of the kids made a needlework project and a collage, the girls decided that they wanted to do a card to.


Zeona was so proud of her winnings two 2nd place ribbons "good job girly".


Syndl got a 2nd and a 1st on her card and needlwork project "way to go sister".


William got at 1st and 2nd also for his needlework and collage "good job buba".


Here were all of my projects 13 craft projects and 7 baking but I didn't bring those home just the ribbons. All in all I got four 1st place, nine 2nd place and three 3rd place I am happy. Next year I hope the kids will do more maybe they can bake. I am not going to bake next year I will do the decorating cakes instead and the fancy cake. Well enjoy the projects.

Syndl's Birthday Party

We celebrated Syndl turning 4 today, she and all her friends had a great time swimming and playing. Her Birthday this year lands on father's day (great isn't it). So we had her party the day before so people could spend the day with there dads.

Here is the cake isn't it cute! Syndl wanted a crown on it's head but when I went to put the crown on it broke and I didn't have time to make another one.


All the kids playing in the pool even grandpa got in and splashed around. That is what you do on a vacation right.

The Cake! Syndl blowing the four candles out and all in one breath. I do have to admit that I got some really wierd lookes from the parents when I started to cut into the bear. I have never cut a bear up so I wasn't real sure on how to do it. But it all got eated, some of the kids came back for seconds and thirds (much to the parents dislike).

One of the best things that Syndl got was from Grandma and Grandpa. It was a chest and in it was full us Tinkerbell dress up clothes, earings, rings and slippers to look good in and even a pair of wings. Can't forget the wings you wouldn't be Tinkerbell. She and all her guests had a great time no one got sunburnt which is a good thing too.

New Member

Well this is Twister our new cat or devil cat is what I like to call him. He is named Twister because he is very distructive and will hurt you. It took us about a week to name him but we found the perfect name. When you walk by he will jump out at you and attack your leg (bitting and claws the whole works). But he is a cute cat as soon as we get him fixed we are going to let him out so he can run and make mischief outside. Oscar doesn't really know what to think of the cat, the cat is kind of a bully to him. He has already been smacked around by the cat. Oscar was eating and the cat was drinking and the cat just looked up and smacked him in the face. Oscar wants so bad to play with the cat but he is a little frightened.

Baseball and Cakes

Few things just to update. We haven't really done much since summer has started except sign up for the reading program at the library. William finished his baseball season and got a trophy for all his hard work. He learned a lot and will most likely continue next year.

William with is very nice trophy which got put up right away so he wouldn't chew on it.

Willie's Birthday just past last week and we had a small get together with family and friends. I of course made him is cake I would never pass up making a cake. I decided that I would do a fishing cake for him because he loves to fish and they just opened Oasis up so he can.


I just made a round cake and decorated fish on it.

I made a boat out of paper and put sugar cookie people in the boat. It was a great birthday and a well eaten cake.

New member

This week we added a new member to the family. Willie calls me up and wonders if we can get the girls something that they have always wanted. For the life of me I couldn't think of what it was but then he said CAT. I really didn't want the cat because they have a habit of scratching your furniture up and peeing everywhere. But we finally got it and it is Willie's cat for sure he sleeps with Willie all the time (poor little thing will get squished). I think that we have named him Mozart. The kids are all excited about it they will not leave the cat alone. He has been introduced to both dogs and Justice doesn't care, he looked at the cat and went the other direction. Oscar on the other had is still adjusting to him, we have to keep a close eye on him when Oscar is in the house. The cat of course hates the dogs but in time they will all like each other (crossing my fingers). Willie took many pictures of the cat the first day, I addmit that I also took a couple.

Another Birthday

Well my little boy has turned 8 so big. We had his party this afternoon and it wasn't big but cousins and Grandma and Grandpa came. We had it out at a park because we were going to be playing baseball. The first plan was to do a Power Ranger cake but then dad mentioned to William about a base ball cake then the cake turned into Power Rangers playing baseball. However the Power Rangers that we have were just a bit to big for the cake so we left them off.


Here is the cake made into a baseball diamond. I did really well for free had but hey it is only a baseball field and it isn't that difficult.

William is reading a card that was given to him by some friends of ours he got shorts, shirt and shoes, thanks a bunch it will be used.

Willie's parents got William a baseball bat and some baseballs for his gift and that is one of the reasons for having the party at the park.

William and Grandpa trying out is new bat to make sure that it isn't to big for him. It was a great day sunny and warm unlike the day before which was freezing (no wonder everyone in Portales is always sick).

White Sands Weekend

Last weekend we had a small family reunion and we all met in at the most central part for all of us. We went to Las Cruses. Saturday we had fun at White Sands. All the cousins got to get together and play. They had a ton of fun. Julie's three my three and Ruth's one.

On Sunday our last day to visit we played at the park all morning and had a picnic. Grandparents brought presents of the kids that were having Birthdays in May. We had a really good time and I hope that we make it a yearly tradtion.

William's first game

Willam had his first baseball game last weekend. The name of there team is the muckdogs. This year William is in coach pitch he is excited about it he hasn't hit a ball yet but there is still time. His season will go until the first weekend in June. Baseball is his sport he is good at it, and he gets to throw things which is his favorite thing to do.

He is playing the pitcher spot but the coach stands right in from and throws the ball. In a couple of years William will move up and the players will start to learn how to pitch.

Easter

Easter was great here in Portales, a little windy and chilly but that is Portales you can't predict the weather here. My parents came from Alb. to spend the holiday with us and help us with a few house repairs. I asked my sister if I could barrow a few punches to make something for the kids in my Sunday school class. I made a candy bar wrapper with a bunny on it that I made out of the punches it was just the cutest thing. I loved it so much I made a special trip to Walmart to get more candy bars just to make some for the whole family. On Saturday we did the fix ups to the house and my mom made me a wonderful skirt that came out great, we then colored eggs. Sunday we went to church I had to teach Sunday school and everyone addored the bunnies. After church we went over to Willie's parents house and hunted eggs with the cousins and had supper. It was a great weekend and appriciated all the help that my parents did.


Isn't it just the cutest and the ear folded down just adds a little more.
